I got the car!

I got the car last night, and it's in better cosmetic shape than I thought it would be. Still alot of work however, electrical system is going to be fun sorting out, there are a couple of loose connections in the engine compartment. And the worst thing happened during shipping. Some heavy handed jack nut managed to break the key off in the ignition, WTF!?!! I contacted the shipping company, DAS, so hopefully they will fix it. An unexpected hangup for sure. So I wasn't able to see if the engine will crank at all, but seeing as there are several loose fittings inside the engine bay, perhaps it wouldn't have been the best idea to try and see if it'll start just yet. i neeed to replace all the hoses and belts, fluids, etcc... before trying to run the engine. but the cars a straight looker though! I'm amazed at the number of orginal parts still on the car, the headlamps, interior trim peices. The car is a true survivor w/ only 28K miles showing on the odometer, well you never know with these cars, but looking at the under carriage reveals a derth of pitting, road damage, etc.. It's easy to tell the car hasn't been abused at all during its 32 year life span.

I also got a chance to look at all the spare parts i ordered, all $2,014 worth! the new top is kind of an ugly light tan, wasn't counting on that, I was hoping that it would match the biscuit interior that I ordered but i may end up using it as is after all, we'll have to wait and see how it meshes with the rest of the intierior colors once the seats and carpeting are finished. Which I wont be doing until I get all the electrical issues sorted out, fusebox, wiring, etc.. and I gotta order a mess of new parts as well. fun times ahead!

OUCH!!!1 oh shit not again.

awhhh man, i managed to dislocate my shoulder last night. If you can recall back in July of last year I got hit by a car. While streatching last night, trying to work some soreness out of my lats, I pushed a little too hard, had all my weight on the arm that popped out, and whamo, it slipped out for a second and then fell back into the socket with a sound something like what you would hear when someone steps on some dried up chicken bones. It was awful. I might have to cancel my tennis match this afternoon. i will however still be spinning tonight, wouldn't quit that for any injury!

So Marx Cafe tonight, be there!

thoughts of the day

Today while in the line at the giants here in lovely columbia heights, the long ass line that streatched a quarter aisle lenght. Has any one else seen this? I would love to know what their daily volume is, as I'm sure that its staggeringl both in terms of daily sales and traffic. i ended going nuts again there ad spending over $100 on cheeses, strange vegtables, tofu, salmon, spices, chicken, olives and sour cream. and a lot of other stuff that I'm leaving out right now. So I should be stocked for food for the forseible future, well a couple of weeks at most, he he... I hope the vegtables i bought don't go bad before i get a chance to use them. I have some asparagus that is starting to go funky as we speak, but I'm really not in the mood for it tonight, so maybe tommorow? eww.. I hate to throw put anything, as a general principle i abohr waste. i guess I could always put the asparagus into the juicer. groan... might have to ad some tequila before i can drink that. what does asparagus puke look like? I bet that it's real nasty and vile to look at. Cleaning up puke is terrible, so lets not go there.

anyways.. Something happened to me while i was in the grocery line, something spectacular and noteworthy. However for the life of me I can't remember what that was. It was almost as if this occurance existed inside of the breif space inwhich events flash brilliant for seconds than fade just as quickly into the mundane routing that I have slowly over the years learned to ignore and marginilize as much as possible. So for the life of the matter i can't seem to recall exactly what transpired in that nreif moment where earth and life became one entity. oh well..

There are things you should not do. You should not drink,
nor dance, nor play music at volumes higher than what the
NYPD dictates. When the stress of the city burns inside,
when the hypocrisy of this era overwhelms you, do not step
outside, don't ride in mass, and never celebrate the simple
moments we share. This is the state of our city at the
Exclamation Point.

As Bush shuffles his deck of Jokers, out with the old and in
with the old, nothing changes. The war in Iraq rages on yet
Rumsfeld says "we're turning a corner" and nothing changes.
A great American city is washed away by neglected levees, we
cry on our tv sets and rage at the ineptitude but nothing
changes. And as we search for Saturday nights of salvation
we find nothing but contempt as super clubs and underground
parties alike are shut down for the same petty violations.
This is our city, we exclaim. We still have rights, we exclaim.
Nothing changes. This is the state of our nation at the
Exclamation Point.

But the warmth of the season is licking our imagination and
the streets of this city look ripe for the taking. Some
things do change and this is what we fight for: taking
streets, riding Critical Mass, creating protest, and
celebrating the art and wonder of the underground party
scene. Things change as long as we exclaim our dreams in
voice and action. This is life on the brink...

We are the Exclamation Point.

The NYPD Wins the Battle for Brooklyn

The Battle for Brooklyn started at 8pm with live music
performance and outside Bar-B-Que. The weather was amazing,
one of those intoxicating days when everyone simply wants to
be out and alive. The performance became hotter as the
night grew dark, with Beans and Vic Thrill throwing down
stunning sets, Beat Boxer Entertainment shaking people with
disbelief and Small Change riding the crowd with dancey
beats in the back room. There were dirty carney games, the
sultry hooka lounge and stunningly decked out tribes battling
for the Key to Brooklyn.

But as we learned the hard way, the most powerful gang in
Brooklyn is the NYPD and when they come to battle, they do
*not* fuckaround.

This was our 6th event at this space, and the first one
where we opened the doors full-force, without limiting the
crowd by RSVP or other means. The hundreds and hundreds of
you streaming through the streets raised the ire of the
local police precinct, who raided the event at 1:30am,
shutting it down by 2am with the help of the FDNY on account
of "overcrowding".

The boys in blue were officially awarded the Key to
Brooklyn, but the rest is not history.

We are meeting with the local precinct to see if we can save
the location and continue to do events there (unlikely). In
the meantime we will be searching for a new location that
can handle the thousands of you who want to drink in the
nightlife unpasteurized.

You are the rockstars and the night is your stage.
This performance is far from over.

100 DJ's wrapup

Yeah, that's me doing my thing on Tuesday nite. What a whacked out nite that was. I don't think we'll get the record attempt, cause many of the DJs played twice, which kind of fouls up the entier 100 dj 100 minute realationship that formed the premises for the whole shebang. And the counter may have been off by a lot towards the end of the night as it was being reset by hand every time a new dj came onto the decks. It was good times though for sure. Pete and michelle, they live in our basement were able to make it, yeah! Then I headed to Marx and spun a nice set with all my new records.

The song i played was "You're So Bad" - K Young [Juicy Joints Organ Mix] and you can listen to it here.

airforce one gets tagged

Marc Ecko tagged air force one. Like no joke jumped the fence at Andrews AFB, and spray painted his logo onto the prez’s airplane.

edit: ok, so this is a hoax apparently, infact the plane in this video is actually the same plane used in the Harrison Ford movie Air Force One. What a LAME thing to do... Marc Ecko, I'm not buying your clothes anymore. Although i agree with the setiment behind this stunt, I think it's retarted to attempt to pass this off as a real tagging. This Ecko guy actually staged some vandalism to promote his new video game, this is utterly stoopid. i can't imagine this guy has much cred with the tagger community after pulling this retarted marketing scam, this will likely blow up in his face.

I guess he did a pretty good job putting the fake together. One of the guys that I work with, he used to live near by, mentioned the golf course would be the best way to get onto andrews airforce base, since the fence is falling down in sections, as shown in the video.

I soooooooo wanted this to be for real.

Bad for tibet, giant Mao statue.

What a travistey, someone should blow this idol sky high, and soon. FREE TIBET!!
Giant Mao statue erected in Tibet
A worker cleans the statue of former Chinese leader Mao Zedong for the upcoming New Year on December 20, 2005 in Chengdu of Sichuan Province, China.
Mao is still revered by many as the founder of modern China
The Chinese authorities say they are putting up a huge statue of Chairman Mao Zedong in Tibet.

The 35-ton memorial is being built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the former leader's death. It is being erected in Gonggar County, near the Tibetan capital Lhasa, China's state-run news agency Xinhua said.

The statue will rise 7m from a 5m pedestal strengthened to withstand earthquakes. Mao Zedong ordered the Chinese takeover of Tibet in 1950. The statue will be the central landmark of Gonggar County's Shangcha square, which covers about 40,000 sq metres, and is scheduled for completion in July.

According to the Beijing authorities, the statue of Mao Zedong will be the largest of its kind in China and the first in Tibet. Changsha, capital of Hunan province and Mao's hometown, has donated 6.5m yuan ($811,000; £461,000) towards the cost of the plaza and statue, Xinhua reported.

"Many Tibetan people suggested we should have a statue of Chairman Mao to show our gratitude," a local Communist Party official told Xinhua:

Mixed reaction

The BBC's Daniel Griffiths in China says the statue is likely to get a mixed reaction from many Tibetans. From Beijing's perspective, the area has been part of China for centuries. But for many, the Chinese government is an occupying power which has shown scant regard for human rights or for Tibet's unique culture, our correspondent says.

Communist troops marched into Tibet in 1950. Nine years later, the region's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, fled into exile along with tens of thousands of his followers after a failed uprising against Chinese rule. Since then, China has exerted tight control over the region and this new statue of Mao Zedong is another reminder of Beijing's influence there, our correspondent adds.

DHS Spokesman Is Accused of Soliciting Teen Online

By Spencer S. Hsu
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, April 5, 2006; Page A24

The deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security was arrested last night on charges that he used the Internet to seduce an undercover Florida sheriff's detective who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Brian J. Doyle, 55, was arrested at his Silver Spring home at 7:45 p.m. and charged with seven counts of using a computer to seduce a child and 16 counts of transmitting harmful materials to a minor, according to a sheriff's office statement.

Agents with the department's Inspector General's Office, the U.S. Secret Service, the Montgomery County police and the Polk County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant and seized his home computer and other materials, the statement said.

Doyle was online at the time awaiting what he thought was a nude image of a girl who had lymphoma, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in an interview with Fox News' "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren." "We wanted to make sure he was using that computer and talking to detectives at the time of the arrest," Judd said.

In his initial communication last month, Doyle told an undercover computer-crimes detective who he was and that he worked for the Department of Homeland Security, later disclosing numbers for his office phone and government-issued cellphone and using those lines, the sheriff's office said.

"If he would provide that kind of information to include a photograph of himself with his identification tags, who else may he be talking to around the world who he thinks to be a 14-year-old girl?" Judd said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."

Attempts to reach Doyle, who was booked into the Montgomery County jail on the Polk County charges, on his office and cellphone numbers and by his official e-mail were unsuccessful.

He was a TSA spokesman before becoming deputy press secretary last year to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

Chertoff press secretary Russ Knocke declined to comment on the case beyond releasing a written statement, saying, "We take these allegations very seriously and we will cooperate fully with this ongoing investigation."

Judd said Doyle confessed and waived extradition to Polk County.

According to the sheriff's office, Doyle initiated a sexually explicit conversation with the detective on March 12 in response to an Internet profile of a 14-year-old girl.

Doyle allegedly sent pornographic movie clips, non-pornographic photos of himself and instant messages from his AOL account, the police statement said. The sheriff's office alleged that Doyle "on many occasions" instructed the undercover detective to perform a sexual act while thinking of him and described explicit acts he wished to perform.

Another Homeland Security official -- Frank Figueroa, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Tampa -- faces trial this week on charges of exposing himself to a teenage girl last year at a mall. Figueroa, who has been suspended, pleaded not guilty.

she just went postal.

USPS employee totally goes postal, LAMFO!! Who knew?!
Baker City postal employee shot, killed
Posted: 6:58 AM, Apr. 5, 2006

BAKER CITY - A postal worker shot and killed a female co-worker outside their workplace in this small Eastern Oregon city Tuesday afternoon, Baker County authorities said.

The shooter was taken into custody shortly after the 4:15 p.m. incident, the sheriff's office said. The names of the gunman and the victim were withheld, pending notification of family members.

The Baker City post office is in the David J. Wheeler Federal Building. The Baker City Herald reported that the victim's car had six visible bullet holes -- three in the windshield and three in the hood -- and her body could be seen toward the rear of the federal building parking lot, near the Powder River. Employees of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, whose headquarters is upstairs in the federal building, were evacuated when a fire alarm went off.

Cheryl Thayer was working across the street when she heard what she first thought was noise from a skateboard. "There were two sets of shooting -- the first four, a gap, then two more," she said. "Not two minutes later the first cop showed up."

She said the apparent shooter surrendered to a police officer without a fight.
